With extensive experience as business executive, corporate attorney and entrepreneur, Jim Kaufman brings an impressive track record of success and a wealth of knowledge to the Exemplar Team.

Jim applies his exceptional talents across all disciplines of Exemplar Companies; Exemplar Capital, Exemplar Law and Exemplar Business Consulting.  His credentials in general management, business development, public and private company General Counsel, complex commercial transactions and global business expertise provide him with a unique and holistic perspective into our customers’ businesses.

Jim began his career as a corporate attorney with a prestigious national law firm.  As a corporate executive, he has held a variety of positions including EVP of Sales, Marketing and Solutions and General Counsel at a $1.4 billion, NASDAQ-traded business process outsourcing company.  As an entrepreneur, Jim was co-founder of a customer service outsourcing company utilizing work-at-home customer service representatives across the United States.  He also led the business development and legal functions of a roll-up of 5 telecommunications expense management companies sponsored by one of the leading U.S. private equity firms.  As a leader for a satellite based communications company, Jim was instrumental in the initial public, subsequent public and private debt and equity offerings and the expansion of the company’s international operations.

Jim holds a BA from Vassar College and the London School of Economics and a JD from the Boston University School of Law.
