Gretchen brings to Exemplar a broad array of business knowledge, having nearly 15 years experience in international business and trade development.  Her experience covers several industry sectors and companies of varying size- from start-up to multinational firms. Gretchen is known for her strategic convergence of business, labor and environment and an appreciation of projects that require a sustainability/corporate social responsibility.  She has an eye for identifying and assessing opportunities for business growth through strategic reviews, trend analysis and market research.

Prior to joining Exemplar, Gretchen was founder and CEO of a successful company that worked to craft international expansion solutions for corporate clients - from market selection, sustainability due diligence, host country value chain research and market entry strategy, to operational set-up facilitation.

Gretchen has extensive experience leading a core team of professionals that launched a new company - resulting in a multi-award winning world cultural education media for children.  Gretchen began her career in Washington, DC as an International Trade Development Analyst, focused on Asian markets, working on international trade policy issues for the embassies of the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China, as well as the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office.

Gretchen holds an MBA from London Business School, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.  She holds a BA from Tulane University in International Relations.
